Rick Ross's latest visual for "Hold Me Back" is causing quite a frenzy among Nigerian's all over the world.
As you may know or not know, on his latest visit to Nigeria Rick Ross decided to shoot an alternative video to "Hold Me Back." The news about his second video being shot in Nigeria created a wave of excitement within Nigeria and among Nigerians across the globe. However, now that the video is out it seems to be causing more disappointment than anything else.
The video premiered hours ago and is already being criticized for it's lack of what some call "authenticity." Most feel that the depiction of Nigeria in Ross's video is not accurate as he only showed one side of the countries spectrum. Check out some of the comments that were left on youtube in regards to the video.
"I have watched the original... Which works in it's
context... Americans need to know more about poverty on the home
front... granted. My primary issue with this particular version is that
a vast majority of Westerners already have a certain perception
regarding Africa ... And a video like this does not help broaden their
vision, rather it narrows it... --- What this video is portraying is a
way of living that should not be exploited until it is fully understood."
"people need to shut up already. i am tired of Nigerians
complaining about just the bad side was shown. not everyone can afford
to live on the island, and the truth is majority of Nigerians are
suffering so kudos to rick ross for showing the part of Nigeria
everyone likes to forget about."
"Wtf Rick Ross..now this is going to feed into the stereotypes of African Countries '______'
Please visit nigeria before you judge the country."

"Why don't you people watch his US version before complaining, he didn't use Vegas or New York... He used ghetto with Ni**as and B****s. Its a nice video though. I am proud of Nigeria. Its true people are suffering and yes its true... Suffering and Smiling."
"Yes, but in a way i feel like we are all Facebook and
Twitter 'Activists' we post a status and share a pic and tweet a tweet,
but the poor kids are still hungry, and the roads will still need
rebuilding, and injustice are still reining. i am totally guilty as
well, but someone like Ross who has the power to do something,
effectifly create the momentum for change, just told and empty story and
flew back to vegas on the next flight out of lagos"
