Earlier this month, the two were photographed spending quality time together at a posh Florida hotel. And after that, Drake was spotted courtside during one of Serena’s tennis matches in his native Toronto. The unexpected friendship definitely has people talking, but after weeks of speculation, Serena has finally decided to dead the gossip.
Asked about the dating rumors by a tennis reporter, she sighed,
“Oh, man. Really? We’re really close friends. Can’t be too close to a friend nowadays, I guess.”
We guess not, Serena. That’s definitely not the strongest denial we’ve ever heard, but if Serena says they’re just friends, we’re going to have to take her word for the time being.
